A big Cloudflare problem started today and made many popular websites stop working.
Users saw error messages like “500 Internal Server Error”.
X (formerly Twitter), ChatGPT, and others went down for minutes to hours. Cloudflare fixes it now, but some sites still load slow.
Cloudflare Outage: What Caused the Outage and Latest Updates
Cloudflare runs security and speed tools for about 20% of all websites. A technical fault in their network caused widespread 500 errors. It started around 11:30 AM UTC ( afternoon in India ).
Cloudflare said they investigate an “internal service degradation”. They work hard to fix it. Services start recovering, but errors may continue for a while.

Sites and Services Affected Right Now
Many big names faced problems. Here are the main ones users reported:
- X (Twitter) – Posts not loading, “Something went wrong” messages.
- ChatGPT and OpenAI – Can’t access the site or app.
- Downdetector – The outage checker itself went down!
- Letterboxd – Movie review site showed errors.
- Canva – Design tool blocked for many.
- Spotify – Some users couldn’t stream.
- League of Legends and Valorant – Players couldn’t connect to games.
- Many more sites like news pages, shops, and apps.
Users tried refreshing pages. Some worked after a few tries. Cloudflare did not say the exact cause yet. They promise more updates soon.
This outage reminds us how much the internet depends on a few big companies. Just like the AWS problem last month. Cloudflare powers fast loading and protects against attacks. When it fails, everything connected feels it.
