Elon Musk is going after popular chatbots with artificial intelligence again, saying that they favour liberals and stating that he will make his own called “TruthGPT.”
Does this sound familiar to you? Former US President Donald Trump started an alternative to Twitter called “Truth Social” to fight what he called “bias.”
TruthGPT: Will the AI Chatbot Show the Candle To ChatGPT?
“TruthGPT” is a maximum truth-seeking AI Musk plans to create, he told Tucker Carlson during an interview on Fox News Channel.
He claimed that OpenAI, the company behind the ChatGPT chatbot sensation, had “trained the AI to lie.” He also said OpenAI was now a “closed source,” “for-profit” company “closely affiliated with Microsoft.”
He also accused Google co-founder Larry Page of failing to prioritize AI safety.
TruthGPT, he claims, “might be the best path to safety” because it is “unlikely to annihilate humans.”
Elon Musk Announces TruthGPT In 2024: What is TruthGPT?
Elon Musk stated that he is contemplating the development of a new ChatGPT alternative.
Musk asserts that his new artificial intelligence creation, TruthGPT, will ‘hopefully do more benefit than harm.’
As Elon describes it, TruthGPT is a “maximum truth-seeking AI” working to understand the nature of the universe.
Elon also expressed his optimism that an AI that comprehends the universe will recognize humanity’s place within it and, as a result, will not exterminate humanity.
The decision of Tesla’s founder is based on his perception that the current AI market is hazardous and tightly regulated.
According to Musk, OpenAI is a closed-source company over which Microsoft has significant influence if not complete control.
Elon Musk stated that OpenAI’s chatbot is being trained to be “politically correct,” which is improper.
In addition, he reveals that he has a general fear of AI and does not know if it is headed in the correct direction.
It is important to note that TruthGPT is not currently in the development phase.
The gist of Elon’s remarks on TruthGPT suggests that the ChatGPT alternative may not exist and is currently only a concept.
However, as time progresses and the AI population grows, this may change. Knowing Elon Musk, TruthGPT will eventually become the truth.
Google, Microsoft, China and More Are Already in Open AI Chatbot Race
It is germane to note that multiple nations, including China, are developing their own open-source chatbots based on artificial intelligence.
Several months ago, it was reported that Baidu would finish internal testing of a ChatGPT-like project dubbed “Ernie Bot” in March, just days after Google unveiled “Bard” its ChatGPT competitor.
As soon as China’s Ernie Bot was revealed, Baidu’s shares on the Hong Kong stock exchange soared 15.3%.
Baidu introduced an AI-powered language model named Ernie in 2019 as part of its Enhanced Representation via Knowledge Integration language model.
It can interpret languages, produce languages, and transform text into images.
Ernie’s ability to perform such tasks has consistently evolved.
In May, Google introduced ChatGPT, a competitor to ChatGPT that uses LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications), Google’s own language model.
Google’s CEO, Pichai, described this as an “important next step in our AI journey.”
According to the CEO, Bard aims to combine the breadth of global knowledge with the strength, intelligence, and creativity of its large language models.
AI-powered Google Bard is similar to ChatGPT and can answer a variety of questions with conversational responses.
To provide timely, high-quality responses, Bard uses web-sourced information.
What is Bard? What Are the Differences Between Google’s Chatbot & Microsoft’s ChatGPT?
Since it came out, OpenAI’s ChatGPT has pretty much taken off in the world of AI. The new GPT-4 language model makes the AI robot even better.
It can do almost anything you can think of. But it doesn’t have anything to worry about from other companies.
Elon Musk, who used to be the founder of OpenAI, has said that he is working on a new option to ChatGPT called TruthGPT.
